General Mathematics Revision and Practice, Part-10

Part-10, Statistics and Probability .
10.2 Mean, Median, Mode. Page-208
   Exercise :- 2
Find the mean , median and mode of the following numbers
5 , 4 , 10 , 3 , 3 , 4 , 7 , 4 , 6 , 5

Solution :
a) Mean = (5 + 4 + 10 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 7 + 4 + 6 + 5)/10
             = 51/10
             = 5.1
b) Median : Arranging the numbers in order of size , we have
3 , 3 , 4 , 4 , 4 , 5 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 10.
The median is the “average” of 4 and 5
    Median = 4.5
c) Mode = 4 (there are more 4`s than other numbers)
